Trial exams throughout Week 7 were used as a trial run for the final exams and many students learned valuable lessons about the structure and setup of exams, as well as the level of revision needed to remember a whole year of work for each subject.
The Year 12’s have now completed the content for most of their subjects and will be focussing on completing any final assignments and preparing for exams. Next term there will be two weeks of classes, followed by a study week with no formal classes, although students are welcome to come to school to see teachers or work in study groups. Exams begin in Week 4, the students have received an exam attendance slip from their Learning Studies teacher that details the times of all of their exams.
Most year 12 students have now completed all their school-based assessment requirements for the year. Normal classes will run until Thursday week 2 of Term 4 with a farewell breakfast held for year 12s on Friday 26 October. The teachers will put on a breakfast from 7:30am for all the students, followed by informal farewells and speeches. The students will then be ceremonially “thrown out” of the school and not allowed to return for the rest of the day, as is traditional as part of this farewell.
No formal lessons will be held in week 3, but students are welcome to attend their normal session time to catch up with their teachers for revision purposes. Students are required to attend all examinations or provide a medical certificate. More information will be distributed early next term.
