This week in The Energy Equation, students have dived into their collaborative inquiry task which involves them working in teams to develop, refine and implement an inquiry project based around energy. This unit in the program focuses particularly on recent trends in energy, such as the increasing use/development of renewables and battery storage. These inquiries will take the form of either a scientific investigation, or an engineering design process. Students have been creating questions ranging from “Why do we not use liquid fuel reactors?” to “How can we use waste water in our homes to create energy?”. Students will present their ideas to their peers next week for feedback, which will allow them to reflect upon their plans for their inquiry and refine them further. We can’t wait to see the diverse range of experiments and engineering solutions students come up with!
