In 2018, ASMS has been working closely with Workforce Blueprint in re-designing the way we support career education. Our goal is to ‘future proof’ our students with the capabilities required for a rapidly changing workforce. Together with student advisors and our growing list of Industry partners we are holding the “ASMS Real Day Out”, an opportunity to explore opportunities relevant to our students’ future pathways.

This year our Year 10s will be involved. They will start and conclude their day at the SAMRI Building, North Terrace Adelaide (between the Morphett Street Bridge and the Royal Adelaide Hospital – often called The Cheese grater) and access locations in and around the Adelaide Torrens waterfront area easily reached on foot.

ASMS students will be working in teams of 25 with supervising teachers and will visit designated venues. They will have an opportunity to speak face to face with professionals, use augmented reality (AR) Apps learn more about career opportunities, consider real life problems and come up with solutions through problem based learning challenges.

The Real Day Out will be held on Friday, 16 November (Week 5, Term 4).

All year 10s will make their own way into SAMRI Building (North Terrace, Adelaide) by 9.00am ready to commence the day’s activities. The day will conclude at the same location at 3.00pm. Students make their own way home from the city. There is a designated lunch time on the day for students to either purchase or bring along their own lunch.

Please return the consent form to your child’s Learning Studies teacher at ASMS by Friday, 9 November.
