Yesterday, our Central Studies students observed some poetry in action!

‘Poetry In Action’ provides schools with a rare opportunity to see poetry brought to life through performance. The team of actors perform four unique shows designed to connect with and inspire high school students. Poems are performed as comic scenes, dramatic monologues, character studies, classical recitations and contemporary interpretations, making poetry accessible and easier to study.

‘Can words really start fires that change the world?’ This performance focused on a selection of great speeches from world history, protest poetry and song lyrics, tied together with the story of a young environmental protestor demonstrating how words can wield great power. This performance ties in perfectly with elements of our Biodiversity course, bringing words to life in a 45 minute performance!
