The 2018 school year is nearly over and we are preparing for our Presentation Night on 28 November at Capri Theatre Goodwood where we will celebrate the achievements of our students and congratulate our ASMS graduates. During the year I have written about our focus on building student’s capabilities in support of them as learners and in preparation for their future lives. Using ePortfolios enable our students to build a collection of examples of their learning and align these with the skills, values and dispositions described by ACARA as the General Capabilities. At Presentation Night ASMS graduates will each receive a certificate acknowledging the capabilities they have provided evidence of developing during their time at the ASMS. We will also acknowledge students who have presented their folios as part of the Portfolio Alternative Tertiary Entrance (PATE) program. These students have applied for entry into Flinders University using their PATE, just one of the many ways in which young people can enter tertiary study.
I look forward to celebrating our students many achievements of the 2018 school year with you on 28 November and to working with the ASMS community for more extraordinary learning experiences in 2019.
