ASMS students’ passion for all things science and maths was evident when we asked for volunteers to be involved in our first every STEMtacular. As part of the Adelaide Fringe the ASMS ran our event on Saturday 29 February at our school and with the help of over 25 students and 10 staff we welcomed nearly 100 visitors to our school who keen to have as much hands-on STEM experience as possible. Opportunities for our students to challenge themselves with new experiences is a high priority for us at ASMS. You will read about some of these in this newsletter. It can take time to find your passion, so having the chance to explore emerging technologies as part of our learning programs is always exciting and considering possible study and career pathways associated with these technologies a bonus! Our Adventure Space time is ideal for some serious play and exploring time, students and staff are always on the lookout for something new to include in the program. Students new to our school in 2020 have settled in well to the ASMS way of doing things. Our Learning Studies Program and Activities Day focus on us getting to know each other and establishing relationships that enable everyone to participate and engage in learning with confidence ready to take on new challenges. Our Governing Council is planning an information night “You don’t know what you don’t know” on 11 March. The sessions aims to provide a parents view of the ASMS and I encouraged those of you new to our school as well as others who may have been here for a year or two to come along, we’d love to see you there!
