The ASMS hosts students from overseas schools each year. These students want to stay with our families and learn our Australian ways and culture. They can become your friends for life. The programs are usually for one to three weeks with the host ASMS buddy being the school buddy during recess and lunch. The buddy is also invited to go on the excursions, usually to Victor Harbour and a Wildlife Park.

We will be hosting a group in March from Yonago Higashi High School, Japan. They will be here from 1 March to 8 March 2020. There will also be an opportunity to host a student from New Caledonia for 2 weeks in April 2020. There may be other opportunities to host students throughout the year.

A remuneration is paid to homestays to help cover costs. It is a chance to learn firsthand about another culture and build life-long international friendships without leaving the country. It is also a chance to rediscover Adelaide yourself by showing our wonderful state to an International Student –visit places you haven’t been to in years. An interesting and rewarding experience for all the family, previous families have had a wonderful experience.

Support the ASMS by hosting an international student.

Please contact Julie Cassidy as soon as possible if you are interested in hosting in 2020.
