During the holiday break, some of our students took part in a free excursion to King Louis’ Palace of Versailles, France, and went mountain climbing in Yosemite National Park, California, all in one day! Sound impossible?
The ASMS invited Google to our school to pioneer a brand new program called ‘Expeditions’, using their 3D virtual reality Google Cardboard technology. A simple cardboard cut-out is fitted with a couple of convex lenses and some Velcro, to harness a smartphone. Teachers can enhance lessons and engage students by taking them to places they never dreamed of visiting.
No wi-fi is even needed to go on these immersive virtual journeys that bring lessons to life…where shall we go next?
