Your child’s safety is important to us

Many of our students catch the bus on Flinders Drive. It is important that they cross at the lights when they are signalled to do so (i.e. don’t cross on a red light). Can we ask that you speak with your child about crossing the road in an appropriate manner so that we can avoid the terrible situation where someone is injured.

You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know

More than 60 parents attended our term 1 Information Session on Wednesday 1 March. Run by our incredible Governing Council, Peter, Don and Kathy presented an engaging session for our new parents to help demystify how we ‘do things’ around here. The conversations were positive and thoughtful and feedback indicated that the attendees found it very helpful. If you are a new parent and have any questions or queries about how the school operates or how your child is managing the new environment, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s Learning Studies teacher. Our next parent-led information session will also be led by our Governing Council and will discuss What matters more – learning or achievement? This will be advertised early in term 2.

Sturt Oval Lights Installation

Work is underway on the installation of lights on the Sturt Oval. Flinders University are installing four new towers to enable the oval to be used as a training facility year round. The work will take around 2 weeks to complete and it is the intention that the main playing surface will remain open and accessible throughout. There will be bunting and temporary fencing around hazardous areas to prevent people accidentally impinging on the worksite.
