“Euglena and Microscopes and Cells, oh my!”

Is what you see under a microscope the truth, or merely a perception?

In the “Truth and Perception” Central Study, students are examining the biology of cells and the chemistry of cellular respiration and photosynthesis. They are designing investigations to determine the best conditions under which Euglena gracilis (a unique single-celled plant/animal algae species) will have maximum reproduction, because one day this little critter may become a sustainable means of our food production. There’s some food for thought!
