In 3D’s we are currently focussing on finding a problem in which students can collaboratively work to propose a solution. As part of this we will be exposing students to a range of problems that are currently being tackled in various industries. We were lucky enough to have Assoc Prof Sandy Walker, an Industrial Engineer from Flinders University talk to all our students about the design cycle approach and to hear about some of his adventures in design. We will have a range of ‘problem providers’ coming in this week to try and inspire our students from areas as diverse as outdoor education, geoscience data analysis, marine waste, databases and vaccinations.
We are asking students to come up with a problem that is meaningful to them so they can look to propose an innovative solution and share this at our Expo next term.
