Year 10/11 students are busy carrying out a Corrosion Investigation Practical that they have designed themselves.

In the TechWorld-Materials module, some iron nails have gotten more than they bargained for! These nails have been placed into some rough conditions of extremely high/low ph’s, saline solutions, coke, orange juice, canola oil, nail polish, paired with sacrificial anodes, or placed in electric currents. Students collected their results over several days in order to test their hypotheses regarding the rusting/anti-corroding capacities of iron.
