There’s nothing better than a little caffeine in the morning!
Students in Biochemical Communications built a variety of organic molecules this term to discover the shape and polarity of hydrocarbon compounds, with their functional groups. This group of 8 budding chemists are showing off their caffeine molecules! Emilija built Taxol, an anti-cancer drug composed of 47 carbon, 51 hydrogen, 1 nitrogen, and 14 oxygen atoms. Molecular modelling helps us to see the connection between a compound’s STRUCTURE and its FUNCTION.
