‘Bridges and Towers and Glue… Oh My!’
This week our Year 10’s had a special Design & Build Challenge set before them to either build the tallest tower or the longest bridge. With only two thin strips of balsa wood, some Stanley knives and glue, our wonderful students had three hours to innovate. Teams of four had to collaborate on truss-system designs, material calculations, and task distribution. The Tower’s first place went to Jack, Ainsleigh, Rishan and Keith, whose masterpiece stood over 3.26 meters tall. The Bridge’s first place went to Jonas, Thomas and Daeeun, whose skilled craft was over 6.33 meters long!
Thanks to Feresh, our new Design & Tech teacher, for planning such a great end-of-year task for our students!
