The Immersion-Week activities for Biochemical Communications included measuring your pulse (with a camera app on phone) as you played a video game, creating a homunculus (small humanoid creature) based on various skin-area sensitivities (using 3D-printed points), testing a person’s reflex speed by clicking the mouse as fast as possible when the screen flashes from red to green, and measuring the contraction/dilation of pupils with a smartphone camera and ruler.

An excellent, engaging, and relevant session that introduced the Term 3 topics of Nerves and Hormones to our students in a great way!
