On Sunday 6 November, the ASMS participated in the 2016 Adelaide Maker Faire!
The Maker Faire event aims to “inspire, inform, connect and entertain thousands of attendees in a family-friendly environment that celebrates technology, education, science, arts, crafts, engineering, food, sustainability – and more.” The event was held at Tonsley, Australia’s first innovation district.
Under Andan’s guidance, we displayed our students’ work in the ASMS booth, including 3d printed products, laser cut models, LEGO robots and other creations. In addition, four of our students competed in the “Warman Design & Build Competition“, held by the Institution of Engineers Australia. Traditionally this competition has been for tertiary engineering students, but this year it was opened to high school students as well! Our team did a great job winning third place, with a big congratulations to Thomas, Ted, Jared and Luke for their efforts.
A big thank you to our volunteers – both staff and students – for coming on Sunday to help set up and man the ASMS booth.
