Each application will be assessed against the following selection criteria.
interest and passion in studying and pursuing pathways based on an integrated curriculum focused on science and mathematics;
evidence of commitment to engage positively with the development of effective, responsible personal learning skills within the innovative teaching and learning environment of ASMS;
considerations of social justice.
Following this assessment, applicants may be offered direct enrolment, an interview to seek further information and clarification or a position on a waiting list. All applicants will be sent a written notification of the outcome of the process.
A transition and information day is held in term 4 for students who have been offered a place for the following year.
Materials & Services Fees
The ASMS is a government school within the Department of Education and Children’s Services (DECS). Fees for 2008 are $635 which includes the standard fee of $248 and an additional fee of $387. The school has conducted a polling process as per departmental guidelines and so the total fee is recoverable.
Students who are eligible for school card will be credited with $248 for 2008 with the balance being a voluntary payment. School card application information is available from the school at the beginning of the year. Student invoices with details of the composition of the materials and services charge are issued at the beginning of each year.
Materials & Services fees are reviewed annually. The updated fee information is usually available early in term 4.
