David Hopkins will return to the ASMS on 5 September for the second in a series of conference days focused on Your 21st Century School.

This conference will address both new participants and those who attended in May with new models, knowledge and strategies for transforming your school for the 21st century.

This conference attempts to create 'a theory of action' or a 'practice' for school reform that can provide a strategic context for reform efforts.  In doing this:

• a model of school change is first presented
• a definition of 'powerful or effective' learning is proposed
• a framework for developing teaching strategies is shown
• the features of an effective school are reviewed; and
• finally, a brief word is said about the dynamics of change
