Students will have the opportunities to develop and apply their learning in the workplace and community. Many of these opportunities are incorporated into the Central Studies. Students learning outcomes will be accredited within the SACE and against Vocational Education and Training (VET) packages as appropriate.
Through workplace studies students will develop an understanding of the world of work and a range of knowledge, skills, competencies and attributes relevant to a wide range of work environments. The collaboration between students and industry professionals will enable students to plan and conduct inquiry projects in the workplace and/or community providing the opportunity to promote local responses to national and statewide issues.
These projects will often be led by scientists, mathematicians and technologists, providing students with access to specialist equipment, techniques and research opportunities not normally available in schools. Students will be supported in developing the ability to recognise, create and utilise opportunities, products and services in business, the community and other contexts.
These programs form an important part of the school's social responsibility to encourage each student to work with and assist in the development of communities both economically and socially.
