The ASMS curriculum is enriched by a series of modules developed and delivered jointly by ASMS and university staff.
These modules are generally 10-40 hours in duration. Some modules are embedded as integral components of the Central Studies, while others provide extension opportunities in areas of interest. Students undertake up to four modules per year according to their interests. The learning outcomes achieved through these modules are mapped as part of each student's individual learning plan. The modules have been specially designed to promote students pathways into new sciences such as aquaculture, oceanography, biotechnology, nanotechnology, informatics and computer engineering.
In addition, other activities involving Flinders University academic staff enrich the ASMS curriculum such as guest lectures, seminars led by university staff and students, project leadership, mentoring and access to clubs.
University interactions are supported by ASMS laboratories situated in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and by access to University libraries, equipment, facilities and technical support.
